Cameron and Tom To Go To Seville for Debut of ‘Knight & Day”

Tom Cruise and Cameron Díaz will be in Seville on June 16th to attend the opening night of their latest movie “Knight & Day”, part of which was filmed in the city last autumn.

In the movie, directed by James Mangold, Miller (Cruise) is a secret agent who goes on a blind date with unlucky-in-love June Havens (Diaz), and ends up pulling her into a serious yet comedic journey to protect a powerful battery that holds the key to an infinite power source.

Their adventure together takes them all over the world and into a succession of surprise encounters, persecutions and false identities, which bring them to realise that they can really only trust each other.

An action-comedy centered on a fugitive couple on a glamorous and sometimes deadly adventure where nothing and no one – even themselves – are what they seem. Amid shifting alliances and unexpected betrayals, they race across the globe, with their survival ultimately hinging on the battle of truth vs. trust

The movie, which also features Peter Sarsgaard, Viola Davis, Paul Dano, Maggie Grace and Marc Blucas, with a script by Patrick O’Neill and James Mangold, based on a novel by Patrick O’Neill, will open in Spain on July 16th.

Shrek Forever After Has a Fairy Tale Weekend with $71.2 Million

The summer movie season continued to heat up this weekend with the highly anticipated release of the forth installment of DreamWorks Animation’s phenomenally successful Shrek series, Shrek Forever After. The film, which stars the returning voice talents of Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, Antonio Banderas and Eddie Murphy, debuted at number one on the box office charts this weekend with $71.2 million, knocking off reigning champ Iron Man 2 from the top position for the first time since it debuted. While most people assumed that the film would open at number one, it did end up earning less than it’s predicted $100 million total. The film managed to earn $16,354 on each of the 4,359 screens that it opened on, however it still has a way to go if in order to earn back it’s purported $165 million budget cost.

Cam Diaz Prefers Ogre Green to Angels Leather

For Cameron Diaz, being a big old ogre in Shrek movies might be a better gig than glamming it up in Charlie’s Angels.

“If somebody asks me if you’re going to do a Charlie’s Angels 10 years from now, I’m like, ‘What?!’” laughed Diaz at yesterday’s press conference for the fourth and final installment of Dreamworks’ Shrek series, Shrek Forever After.

“It’s a little bit different fitting in those pants from 10 years ago, but Shrek of course we get to go back to whatever they will be 10 years from now. I’m in,” she said, adding “but hopefully we won’t have to wait that long.”

Unfortunately, no matter how much Diaz and her castmates enjoyed doing Shrek, Dreamworks assures us that Shrek Forever After is absolutely the end of the line for everyone’s favorite grumpy Scottish ogre and his medieval fairytale entourage.

The plot of Shrek Forever After itself is a bit of a reboot. When con man Rumpelstiltskin offers Shrek the chance to live a dream day in which he’s the scary ogre he used to be, Shrek winds up stuck in an alternate reality where Rumplestiltskin is the evil king, ogres are hunted, and none of Shrek’s friends know him.

There are some new characters, voiced by none other than Kathy Griffin, Jane Lynch, Craig Robinson and Jon Hamm. And many old favorites reappear, albeit in slightly changed form—Fiona has become the bad-ass leader of an underground ogre resistance and Puss in Boots is a fat housecat.

Speaking of Puss in Boots, we may not have seen the last of him yet. Although the team behind Shrek swear on their lives that this is the last of this series, they did let drop that Dreamworks is planning a Puss in Boots spin-off. “Kind of like The Jeffersons splitting off from All in the Family,” Shrek director Mike Mitchell told E! News.

Do we smell a Shrek cameo? Perhaps. In the meantime, you can get your final Shrek fix in theaters everywhere starting May 21.

Ask ‘Shrek’ Stars Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz and Antonio Banderas a Question

The final installment of the “Shrek’ series is only a few weeks away. In ‘Shrek Forever After,’ the big, green ogre has trouble settling into his domesticated bliss with his wife, Fiona. Hoping to experience a little bit of “youthful excitement” he makes a deal with Rumpelstiltskin — and is unwittingly duped into changing time.

Now, Rumpelstiltskin is ruler of Far Far Away, ogres are hunted, and Shrek and Fiona have never met. Shrek must hurry to put everything back the way it was, before history is changed forever. He’ll need the help of Donkey and the swashbuckling Puss-in-Boots, to get Fiona to fall in love with him all over again.

On Friday, May 10, stars Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, and Antonio Banderas will be stopping by Moviefone to ask each other questions submitted by you! Ask them how crazy it gets when they team up in the recording booth. Or see if Mike Myers will bust out the Scottish brogue on his fellow cast-mates. You can ask them anything you’d like, just make sure you submit your question in the comments section before 5PM Eastern time on Thursday, May 13, and that you include your name and location. Come back here on Wednesday, May 19 to see if your question was used during the interview. Good luck!

The Green Hornet Delayed Again

Superhero movie The Green Hornet is delayed for a second time – they insist the extra three weeks will allow technicians to add 3D effects!

Actually they say it’s not a 3D conversion, like the recent Clash of the Titans, but rather an enhancement to the movie’s “great depth and scope.”

Well, whatever, guys, but at this moment, the most important thing is a fact that this Michel Gondry movie, based on the crime-fighting hero of the ‘30s and ‘40s, is moved from its planned December 22, 2010, release date to January 14, 2011.

So, you see now why all those rumors about the troubles and incidents with The Green Hornet production showed up in the first place? The film was initially slated for July 7, 2010, and underwent several shake-ups during the run-up to production, including directorial and casting changes.

Of course, Sony’s Vice-chair Jeff Blake denyed the whole thing, and said:

“It is purely a capacity issue. There are simply not enough digital screens up and running with the theater system to juggle that number of titles” and added: “We’re investing more in the film to have it 3D. We love it. We believe in it. We’re going to finish ‘Green Hornet’ in 3D and take nine months to do it right.”

But, was that really necessary? Think about that, while we give you some basic info about this movie. Ok, we know that this is a superhero action thing, and an adaptation of the radio and television character The Green Hornet.

We know already that there is some interesting cast involved: Seth Rogen as Britt Reid/Green Hornet, Cameron Diaz as Lenore Case, Jay Chou as Kato, Christoph Waltz as Chudnofsky, as well as Edward James Olmos, Tom Wilkinson and David Harbour.

The screenplay is written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, and it’s been shot entirely in Los Angeles. And just to show you that January is (maybe) not so bad choice after all, let us mention that December will be a pretty competitive month when it comes to 3D films, including Tron Legacy, Yogi Bear and the first installment of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It makes sense now?

If you’re excited about this one, than get ready for January. But, just in case they decide to change something again, make sure you stay tuned, because we’ll keep you informed!
